Vela Veloce Race and Italian Dinner - october 11
Ahoy Texoma Sailors,
Fall is here and the racing is only going to get better! The Vela Veloce (Sail Fast) Race on October 11, is our next race on the calendar. There are only three races left in the racing season, so be sure to get into this race to build up your standing. This race will feature a standard start and either a W/L or a Triangular course.
The schedule is:
Oct 11 - 9:30-10:00am Registration
10am Skippers Meeting at TSC Clubhouse
11:55am – First Warning Signal
12Noon - First Start of the Day
6:00 pm - Awards and Dinner at TSC Clubhouse
Following racing, we will have our ever-popular Italian Dinner at 6pm in the clubhouse. You don’t want to miss Nicole’s yummy, delicious, scrumptious Italian dinner. Come out and enjoy the fall weather and the fun and fellowship with your clubmates.
A message from the Commodore
From the Commodore – The Commodore's Cup
With the placement of our new permanent marks, a new aspect of our sailing program has opened.
I am pleased to announce the establishment of the Commodore's Cup which will be a perpetual trophy and a cash prize given each year at the Commodore's Party.
The rules are very simple:
1. Turn in the fastest corrected time around the course.
2. You can attempt the course multiple times.
3. You choose when you want to sail the course before December 31.
4. Times must be turned in after each attempt and running scores will be posted on the website.
The sailing instructions can be found on the racing page. The course is measured at 23 miles.
Get out and stretch you boat for this distance challenge and claiming rights for the perpetual cup. THE CHALLENGE STARTS SEPTEMBER 6!
