From racing, themed dinners and holiday parties, to quiet summer evening raft-ups, there is always something going on at TSC!
The year is flying by and here is a recap of our activities since my last post.
TSC’s annual Spring Regatta at the end of April was another success this year. Weather was breezy, making for both exciting and challenging races on both days. The Saturday dinner was again catered by the Point Restaurant and well attended. The food was excellent. Thank you very much to all who volunteered their time and efforts in preparing and supporting this important event. It takes the commitment of many to have a successful Regatta. Thank you.
In early May TSC held the Asbury Smith Cup race and unfortunately the weather again did not cooperate. We shortened the race to just over 3 miles and then raced to Caney Creek Yacht Club for dinner. Clearly the meal and socializing with fellow sailors is the best part of the day. Thank you so much for your generous hospitality Caney Creek!
The last weekend in May was the 4th annual Ladies at the Helm race followed by the TSC Shrimp Boil. What a crowd! It was wonderful to see so many folks Saturday night. Thank you all for coming out.
So June is now upon us and here are the next few events from our calendar. TSC is always open to visitors and potential new members. Our members look forward to seeing new faces each event weekend, so please come on by and say hello.
June 11 – Ole Man O’ the Sea – this is a single-handed race (anyone can race) and TSC’s annual fish fry
June 25 – Club Cruise #3 – this is the 3rd in a new TSC series that focuses on important sailing skills for sailors at all experience levels. Cruising Captain Dave Long is innovative and fun, and he tailors the events to the wind availability that day. Don’t miss out! The evening social is a luau.
Reservations for any of these events can be made through Mary Nichols at mhnichols54@gmail.com. Please come join us.
