From racing, themed dinners and holiday parties, to quiet summer evening raft-ups, there is always something going on at TSC!
For all that were able to join us on February 27 for the Orientation, Sailing Tactics and the Commodore’s Party – what a day! The sessions in the clubhouse went very well and we had a great turnout for both. So many new members; so many excellent questions. It was wonderful to meet everyone, share some stories, and review some sailing tips and tricks from our resident club experts.
The Commodore Party was also a great success. Everyone was clearly excited to finally be together. The Point Restaurant did a fantastic job on the venue and the menu – what a great way to kick off the year! Thank you to all who attended and made this event a success.
March 13 is the start of our sailing program with a Spring Shakedown Cruise! This is a free event meant to get everyone back out on the water after our cold snap of a winter week last month. Mary Nichols has already sent out the notice, so please reach out to her if you did not receive it.
We have decided to remove the dinner for this first event, one last time. The Board is establishing some safety precautions for serving our own food this year, and we will start in earnest on March 27 with the Ladies Soup Supper following the Ice Breaker Race that day.
Look for information regarding the Spring Regatta registration, which will open up on March 15. Spring Regatta is planned for April 24-25.
Though Governor Abbott has announced “no more mask mandates and fully open businesses” starting March 10, there are medical experts promoting continued vigilance as well. TSC will continue to exercise care and encourage personal space as we gather for our social activities.
As a means of bringing club members closer together, TSC will be publishing a list of all members’ names, phone numbers and email addresses for general use. Should you not wish your information be shared with the group, please notify Mary Nichols as soon as practical.
Look forward to seeing you on March 13.
Regards,
Nicole Spruill
