From racing, themed dinners and holiday parties, to quiet summer evening raft-ups, there is always something going on at TSC!
Ahoy Texoma Sailors!
Great news! Fall has arrived! I think this is the best sailing season of the year. The heat should be decreasing and the winds increasing. So come out to the lake and enjoy the season. The Club has plenty of activities to participate in.
We started with the “Big Tex Race” on Saturday. The race was a buoy race, and we were able to get in three races. All the racers had a great time. The race was followed by a Catfish Fry prepared by world renowned chef Jim Norton. And it was delicious! Thank you, Jim.
In October we had to shuffle the calendar around a bit. On October 12 we will have our “Fall Fest Race”, and Italian Dinner hosted by Nicole and Lee Spruill. Currently, we are in the planning stages for the Asbury Smith Cup Race on October 26. It will be a joint affair with the Caney Creek Yacht Club. We will sail over to their part of the lake for the race. TSC will handle the racing and CCYC will provide the food at their marina. Always an enjoyable time. Stay tuned for more details.
November 6 will be our Thanksgiving Potluck Social at our Clubhouse at 18:00. A good time to socialize with club members and give thanks for the year’s blessings. The last race of the year is appropriately called “End of Season Race” followed by the Men’s Chili Cook Off on the 26. So, bring your best pot of chili and see how you stack up.
Our Christmas Party and Chinese Gift Exchange will be on December 7. The food is great, and the gift exchange is certainly entertaining! There is something for everyone from sailing, to eating, to socializing. Come out and enjoy the festivities.
Fair winds! Hope to see you at the lake!
